The machine is solid and reliable, with controls that don’t take a college degree in computer programming to understand.  People especially like the fact that the beans are only ground when needed and it seems the taste experience mirrors this.  It’s also easy to clean, with the descaling program very handy to ensure that the guts of the machine, which you can’t see also remain sparkling clean as well.  


Being a super-automatic, it means that those who don’t have extensive barista skills can easily begin to learn how to make the perfect espresso (or cappuccino or latte).  Once you become more experienced there are ways to tweak and adjust to get your coffee exactly the way you want it.  


On the negative side, it seems that the DeLonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica Super-Automatic Espresso/Coffee Machine is a little on the noisy side.  But hey, it’s not a big deal – and to be honest, is no louder than a lot of espresso makers on the market.  The only other little niggle is that if you drink lots of long coffee – lattes, cappuccinos or long Americanos, then you need to fill the reservoir up on a regular basis.
